FRIDAY, MAY 18
The 8th graders (Frosh team) and 9th graders (JV) can pick up their hats today at 4 p.m. at the field. I will also be there until about 6, but would rather not hand them out piece-meal. Let's shoot for 4.
We will have hats to sell at the final money turn-in, which Sunday from 3-4 p.m. JV and varsity uniforms will be handed out promptly from 4-4:45.
The Under Armor hats are $17.50.
SUNDAY, MAY 6
Congratulations to the Freshman team for winning the USSSA Tournament in Branson this weekend with a perfect 3-0 mark. Nixa won 10-0, 17-5 and 3-1!!!!
Rookies play in the Glendale Tournament starting on Friday. First game is at 4 p.m. on Friday. They play Saturday at 3 with a win or 11 a.m. with a loss.
TOURNEY CHANGES (Correction - April 3)
I have made some changes to the Spring schedule for the 8th graders and the Rookies.
Rookies -- Because our third tourney with them is free, we will play in Harrison, Ark. on the following dates: April 21-22 and April 28-29 and May 5-6. We no longer play the USSSA in Branson on May 25-27.
Varsity/JV travel to St. Louis
To all parents that may go with the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams to the St. Louis Tournament on May 31-June 3 ---- our hotel reservations have been confirmed.
We are staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites, 333 Washington Avenue (314-621-7900). If you call to reserve a room, tell them you are with "Pastime Tournaments" to get the $99.00 per night rate. It is limited and once the block is sold out, the rate will go up.
We have 10 rooms reserved for players and coaches under the name Nixa Baseball. Please reserve any rooms under your own name so as not to create confusion with our reservations.
Varsity in Omaha, Motel Info
The team has been booked in Omaha and as usual it is not an easy, or cheap task. We will be staying at the Holiday Inn Express, 8736 W. Dodge Road (402-343-1000). I worked a great deal for the players and coaches (relatively speaking), but could be expensive for parents. Understandable if you wish to stay somewhere else and easier to find one room than a block of them. You might mention you are traveling with the Nixa Baseball team and see if they can work a deal for you, but make sure to distinguish this is separate from the team's 6 rooms.
Varsity in Bartlesville, OK hotel info
The varsity will be staying at the same hotel as last year, the Bartlesville Hilton Garden Inn. Address is 205 SW Frank Phillips Blvd Bartlesville, OK 74003 and the phone number is (918) 336-0808. They have a terrific breakfast and the rate is about $84. Tell them you are there with Nixa for the Glen Winget 4th of July Tournament. The dates are July 4th-8th.
